The Saint Louis-Pasteur Program

A collaboration between

Washington University (Saint Louis, USA)

and

Institut Pasteur (Paris, France)

Host-Pathogen Interactions

Aim of the Program

This joint funding program intends :

  1. to reinforce the pre-existing informal relationships between the Institut Pasteur and the Washington University Medical School (St. Louis), two institutions which share rich traditions in basic research in particular in the study of the interactions between pathogens and their hosts.
  2. to stimulate fruitful and synergistic collaborations between groups of both institutions.
  3. to share techniques/technologies
  4. to stimulate common educational programs, lectures and practical courses or other scientific activities which may improve common research objectives.

Through the efforts of both institutions, funds are now available for seminars, and short-term travel and/or research fellowships at each Institution.

The scientific areas covered by the program concern the study of the interactions between pathogens and their hosts and are broadly defined : they range from classical genetics-bacterial, viral and parasite to cell biology, cellular microbiology, genomics and immunology.
